(b. Atlanta, 15 Nov 1987). American classical vocalist. Christina Sidlow-Doud is a soprano from Cartersville, Georgia. At the age of nine, Christina began to perform in musical at her local theatre. There her love of the stage blossomed. She delved into the roles of Babe from The Pajama Game, Lucy from You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown and Laurey fromOKLAHOMA! When she turned thirteen, she began classical vocal training. In 2011, Christina received her undergraduate degree in vocal performance from Shorter University. Currently, she is attaining her master’s degree at Reinhardt University. She has studied with many prestigious teachers, including Mrs. Jonalyn Bew, Mrs. Elizabeth Colson and the late Professor Gail Robinson. Presently, Christina studies with the illustrious Dr. Rebecca Salter.
In 2006, Mrs. Sidlow-Doud attended Harrower Opera Workshop at Georgia State University. She also attended the vocal intensive program, RESONANZ, in 2010. During that same year, Christina performed with the Atlanta Pops Orchestra as a soloist, as well as the principle soloist for The Order of the Eastern Star’s regional convention.
Christina’s operatic debut was in 2003 with Pucinni’s La Bohème. In 2006, Mrs. Sidlow-Doud was a nymph in Shorter University’s production of Orpheus and the Underworld. She was Monica in Menotti’s The Medium in 2008. She also had the privilege of performing as Gretel in Engelbert Humperdinck’s Hänsel und Gretel in 2009. In 2010, she was the stage manager for the comic operetta, The Merry Widow by Franz Lehár. Recent roles at Reinhardt University, include: Mabel from The Pirates of Penzance (2013) and Belinda from Dido and Aeneas (2014).
