While a student at IU, Emma was honored to study with world-acclaimed harpists including Susann McDonald, Naoko Yoshino, Sarah Bullen, Elizabeth Hainen and Maria Luisa Ryan-Ferrero. She also worked as a volunteer with the IU Pre-College Harp Department, where she taught harp lessons extensively. The four years spent at IU gave Emma a well-rounded musical training in music theory, music history, music pedagogy, arts marketing as well as ensemble and solo performance. She eagerly shares this various knowledge with her harp students.
Her time at Indiana University was rich not only from a musical perspective, but also for her spiritual life. She was part of the leadership for the Christian Musicians Fellowship, where she learned a lot about how to live her faith as a musician. In the last semester at IU, Emma was part of the Ensemble Christo, a group of Christian musicians who promote classical music with sacred intent. In the summer of 2008 and 2009, Emma attended the Masterworks Festival, a Christian Performing Arts Festival. During her time at the festival, she was part of small groups and was inspired by testimonies of Christian faculty and performers.
Emma teaches Mondays & Wednesdays.
