Heidi Truitt graduated from Bethel College, St. Paul, MN (B.A.), Iowa State University (M.S.) and most recently, The Institute for Worship Studies (I.W.S.), a non-denominational graduate theological school emphasizing worship theology. She will graduate with an Advanced Diploma from I.W.S. in May 2020.
Her work history involves seven years as a public school teacher/counselor; three years in private counseling practice; many years of private piano instruction; several years as a ministry director in two churches; and owning/directing The Harmony House. Heidi also serves as Co-Pastor (along with her husband Darrell Truitt) of New Song Fellowship which meets every Sunday at 10am at 2933 Cherokee St., Kennesaw, GA.
Her volunteer ministry involvements include conceptualizing, developing and leading various ministries: lay counseling; center for the arts; and two non-profit launches, Caring for Others, Inc. and Mosaic Ministries, Inc. In addition, Heidi has volunteered in the following church-based roles: (twelve years) orchestra (flute) piano accompaniment (many years) and children's choir. Heidi organizes benefit concerts to support local or international mission efforts.
Darrell and Heidi have two grown children, Aaron and Kara, and one overly-loved Yorkipoo, Sammy. Heidi (and family) enjoys hiking to N. Georgia waterfalls, music, live arts/music performances (varied), and all things ministry-related, which included previous annual missionary trips to Nicaragua.
In 2005, Heidi combined her love for the arts, missions and teaching in launching an arts ministry. In 2008 the music/arts center became known as "The Harmony House", a Christian-based center in Kennesaw. In 2019, The Harmony House extended to offer a second site for lessons in Acworth. Today the centers have grown to offer the greater Kennesaw/Acworth area music retail & repairs; instrument rental; and of course, music/arts lessons & classes.
