Lois Seeger comes to Atlanta with a wealth of teaching experiences. A transplant from Minneapolis, she brings her expertise in teaching students from preschool to the intermediate level.
Music Mom and Me (Dads, too). Lois has led “Music Mom and Me “ classes for many years, and has a published curriculum for this group setting. This class is a great beginning to bring music into the lives of young children (ages 2 – 5) and into your home.
Music for Little Mozarts. Lois also specializes in teaching piano to 4 – 6 year-olds using the “Music for Little Mozarts” age-appropriate curriculum. Her goal is to give each student a positive start toward a lifetime love of music.
Faber Series. Lois has found that older children flourish using the Faber series, which includes a great foundation of music theory. The series encompasses all the musical styles—classics, folk, rock and roll, jazz, etc. Supplementary materials are used as needed.
Lois has been teaching over 30 years, with degrees in Music Education, Elementary Education and Early Childhood Licensure. She also focused on “Children, Music and Spirituality” while earning her MA in Human Development. She has spent many years teaching in both religious and secular schools, from the toddler age through grade six.
Her background also includes music theatre, both as a performer and as a director of children’s musicals. Her involvement on the worship team at her church includes vocal/piano/keyboard participation.
It may be evident by now that Lois not only loves music, but loves teaching. Her goal in coming to Atlanta is to continue encouraging budding music students to achieve their personal best.
