Paul Hedman has been a private Suzuki violin teacher in the Atlanta area since 1983. His students are family to him. He holds the degree Bachelor of Music from the University of Southern Mississippi, home of one of the largest and most respected music departments in the Southeast. Mr. Hedman has also completed teacher training in all ten volumes of the Suzuki curriculum as well as numerous supplemental courses. Many of his students obtain positions of leadership in their school orchestras and in youth symphonies all over metro Atlanta and have been admitted to university music programs.
Mr. Hedman's aim is to partner with parents in teaching their children to play the violin and to foster a love of music in the home. With elementary aged students he takes a “hands-on” approach in which the parent is required to attend the lessons in order to initiate and supervise practice sessions at home. The parent is taught to teach the child.
